Pinion shaft bushing, made in the USA (1929 to 1936 - 45" twins) The inside diameter of the bushing has been made with the required taper so a straight reamer can be used to size the bushing to fit the pinion shaft. The bushing needs to be reamed or honed to allow 0.002" clearance between the shaft and the bushing at the outer end. The bushing can be used with pinion shafts worn 0.002" smaller than new without honing. After installation, oiling holes must be drilled in the bushing using the engine case as a guide. |
